Engaging Communities while Addressing their Challenges

Engaging Communities while Addressing their Challenges

Engaging communities begins with listening, understanding their realities, priorities, and aspirations. We co-create solutions that respond to real challenges and strengthen resilience, ownership, and lasting impact by working alongside local leaders, women, youth, and vulnerable groups.

When we See Nature as Beautiful as this View

When we See Nature as Beautiful as this View

When we pause to view a landscape like this, we remember that nature is not just scenery; it serves as our life support system. Protecting it means safeguarding our water, food, culture, and future, and building climate resilience ensures that these gifts endure for the generations who will one day stand in the same place and feel the same sense of wonder.

Stakeholder Dialogue on Lead (Pb) Mitigation and Policy Advocacy

With funding support from Pure Earth’s Opportunity Fund (www.pureearth.org), a roundtable discussion was convened in Monrovia under the project “Protecting Communities from Soil, Water, and Waste Pollution in Montserrado County.” The event brought together environmental officers, researchers, community representatives, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders to address the growing environmental and public health risks posed by poor waste management, lead (Pb) contamination, unsafe recycling practices, and environmental neglect in vulnerable communities across Montserrado County, Liberia. The discussion provided a platform for stakeholders to share knowledge, examine emerging pollution challenges, and explore practical solutions to strengthen environmental protection and safeguard community health. Participants emphasized the importance of coordinated action, scientific research, increased public awareness, improved waste management systems, and stronger environmental governance to reduce pollution risks and promote sustainable development within affected communities.
